The Lubavitcher Rebbe highly encourages the daily study portions of Chumash, Tehilim and Tanya. The Chumash is studied as per the classical division of one Aliya per day of the week’s portion from the division of the Parsha into seven Aliyos. Each portion is studied with Rashi, the most foundational commentator both on Chumash and Talmud.
These recordings can be accessed to help you fulfil this request of the Rebbe, which he equates with a ‘minhag yisroel,’ a Jewish custom, elevating it to something of enormous significance.
The Rebbe also explains how fulfilling this learning of ‘Chitas’, the acronym of the three works studied, creates the ‘chitas elokim,’ fear of Hashem on the nations to protect the Jewish people. In these times, adding in this study can bring more of Hashem’s security to our people wherever they may be.
